LANGUAGE PROTEST
on March 7, 2009 by Zainal
Protesters run from tear gas during a demonstration against the use of the English language in teaching science and mathematics at schools, in Kuala Lumpur March 7, 2009. Malaysian police fired tear gas to disperse hundreds of opposition activists demanding that science and math be taught in the national Malay language, witnesses said. Language is a sensitive issue for the country’s majority Malays and represents the latest political battleground for incoming Prime Minister Najib Razak, who is already facing a challenge from a weakening economy.

very nice shot bro!
come on.. wake up..
Is this protest necessary?
If yes, you guys should have done it when the ministry announced it 6 years ago.
The Malay language itself has its own beauty of course. But try look at our neighbor country, Singapore. Their national language is Malay too. But they are more successful than our country despite the years they gained their Independence. Their Education system is just like what you guys are protesting against now. Please be aware that doing this is just like walking backward, refusing to advance..
whatever they do or did is none of my business…..i am just a photographer who record whatever happen as it is. anyway thanks for visiting.
